Esse Ceylon
Esse Ceylon is a Sri Lankan natural food startup working directly with smallholder farmers and rural communities, built around Kithuli, a range of low-GI, vegan, natural products made from traditional kithul palm. The brand's commitment to rural and women's empowerment needed to be as central to its digital presence as the product itself.
Esse Ceylon was preparing to launch its first product into a natural foods category most Sri Lankan consumers hadn't encountered before. The brief was focused: a single-page site that introduced Kithuli clearly, communicated the brand's traceability and mission convincingly, and converted interest into enquiries and orders, alongside a social presence reaching retail consumers and B2B buyers separately.
We built a single-page WordPress site covering the brand's story, the product's natural credentials, supply chain traceability, ordering pathways, and a dedicated invitation for manufacturing and retail partners, then established and managed Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn with weekly content built around product education and the farming communities behind it, publishing consistently for twelve months.
- A startup's digital strategy is rarely linear, after twelve months of traction the founder made a considered decision to focus on offline retail relationships for that stage of growth, a business call, not a reflection of the platform built.
- What EXEVE controls is giving a launch the strongest possible digital foundation, what a founder builds from it, and in which direction, is always theirs to decide.
